Anmol Gupta

Final Year Dual Degree Student | IIT Kanpur

Hey there, I’m Anmol Gupta a final year dual degree student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Kanpur. I have a general love for programming and Web Development and I like to spend my time trying to think up solutions for all sorts of problems. Other than that, I love playing PC games, sports like volleyball and cricket, watching action movies and web series.

Work Experience

Drone & Anti Drone Simulator

ARTPARK, IISC Bangalore

Objective : To build drone simulator for autonomous flying first and then implementation of it in real world using reinforcement learning techniques. It also involves the simulation of anti drone technology.
Approach :
◦ A terrain of Galwan valley is simulated in Blender using NASA's elevation data.
◦ Designed a drone and simulated it in Blender Game Engine and Unreal Game Engine to fly it manually with keyboard inputs in the mountain-valley terrain using python API.
◦ The drone dynamics is simulated with different combination of thrusts on four rotors to achieve specific motions.
◦ Simulated the Anti-Drone Technology at ATC tower, Bangalore in Blender Game Engine.
◦ Anti Drone simulator shoots down the invading drones with a wind blast. The wind blast to any part of drone body, destabilizes the drone and it falls down.
◦ Developed a drone and anti-drone simulator for training in virtual environment with RL techniques.

Industry 4.0

Thesis Project, IIT Kanpur

Objective : To implement Industry 4.0 solution first on simulation, then on real machines and factories.
Approach :
◦ An HMI app was made and deployed to keep track of employees working in the factory, the machine and part they were working on, and their exact location. The frontend of the app was written in React-Native and the backend REST API in NodeJs.
◦ A Real-Time-Machine-Monitoring application was developed on LabView which gave real-time machine data from Siemens 840D SL lathe machine. The data was fetched through OPCUA using NIOPC Servers.
◦ The application was first developed with simulated data from Siemens SINUTRAIN then the same was checked with a real machine in Ordnance Factory, Kanpur.
